eBay takes a percentage of the whole sale, shipping included, plus a small fee on every order. Put in your price and see what lands in your account.
How eBay fees work in 2026
eBay charges a final value fee on the total amount of the sale, which includes the item price, the shipping the buyer pays and sales tax. For most categories that fee is 13.6% on the first $7,500 of an item and 2.35% above that, plus a per-order fee of $0.30 on orders of $10 or less and $0.40 above $10.
Some categories differ: trading cards are 13.25%, guitars and basses 6.7%, and sneakers at $150 or more are 8% with no per-order fee. Promoted listings, if you use them, come on top.
Price for profit
The number that matters is what is left after the fee, the postage you pay and what the item cost you. If the profit looks thin, the fix is usually buying lower or bundling items so the per-order fee and postage are spread across more value.
Use the break-even price as your floor when you accept offers.
